Arch Digest June 2008

Architecture Digest - June 2008 Four years in the making - Rancho Alegre is a 200 acre ranch located in the rolling hills surrounding Santa Fe, New Mexico. Almost 30,000 sq. ft - the compound consists of a main residence and adjoining Spanish Colornial village and is made completely of adobe mud brick. Architect William F. Tull and interior designer Kris Lajeskie created a compound so compelling and authentic - highlighting the Native American, Spanish/Mexican and Western cultures with a high degree of historical accuracy. A world class art collection and period antiques fill the spaces. The owner Michael Kammerer commissioned Cathy Smith - costumer of Dances with Wolves to create a museum of the great Plains chiefs. Of particular note is the master artisan collaborations that are seen in every room in both architectural detail, finishes and furnishings. A true masterpiece! Click HERE to read & download Article
